Spring time brings snow melt and rain showers, which means its the one time a year you can usually catch the Salt Flats flooded! It’s a beautiful phenomenon to experience and I highly recommend an afternoon trip for sunset.

Things To Know:

• Do not drive on the salt flats if they are wet! Not only are you hurting the soil and landscape permanently, but you will also get stuck and have a hefty tow bill to get out. You can park at the pull-off and walk onto the salt flats if they are wet. 
• It’s a 2 hour drive from Salt Lake City with almost no stops along the way, so make sure to fill up on gas and bring snacks with you.
